The Newark and North Jersey region is experiencing a damp and chilly morning, with temperatures hovering around 54 degrees at 4:30 a.m.
North Jersey residents should brace themselves for a busy day in terms of weather, as the day began with rain.
Showers, ranging from downpours to light rain, have been moving across the mid-Jersey area. The National Weather Service predicts that these occasional rains will continue throughout the day, with showers likely, especially before 11 a.m.
Additionally, patchy fog is expected before mid-morning.
As the day progresses, NWS forecasters say the weather is expected to remain cloudy, with a high temperature near 62 degrees.
Winds are relatively calm, initially coming from the north at seven mph but later shifting to a westward direction at speeds of 5 to 9 mph.
The chance of precipitation is estimated to be around 60%, with new precipitation amounts expected to be less than a tenth of an inch.
Residents are advised to stay prepared for sporadic rain throughout the day.
