My friends and family in Newark and the North Jersey region are in for a delightful summer-like day today.
As I drove to the office this morning, I was greeted with temperatures slightly above average: 63 degrees Fahrenheit at 5 a.m.
National Weather Service data revealed that the forecast called for mostly cloudy skies through mid-morning, with conditions gradually clearing as the day progresses.
The expected high temperature is around 81 degrees, and a gentle west wind blowing at 5 to 10 mph will accompany it.
As Saturday night approaches, NWS forecasters say the area will experience mostly cloudy conditions once more, with temperatures dropping to around 52 degrees.
A north wind will pick up, blowing at 8 to 10 mph.
However, residents are advised to make the most of today's beautiful weather, as Sunday will bring a significant change. Rain is expected, mainly after 11 a.m., and temperatures will drop from Saturday's pleasant conditions to near 56 degrees by 9 a.m.
The mercury will continue to fall, reaching around 50 degrees for the remainder of the day, marking a return to more typical fall weather for this time of the season.
