NJ Man Sentenced to Seven Years in Prison for Explicit Conduct with Minor in Clifton

Authorities in Passaic County announced that Wilfredo Guardia, 65, of Clifton, has been sentenced for endangering the welfare of a seventeen-year-old child in his care.

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes reported that Mr. Guardia was arrested on May 12, 2022, after an investigation conducted by the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit, Clifton Police, and Passaic County Sheriff’s Office.

He subsequently pleaded guilty on June 7, 2023, before the Honorable Marilyn C. Clark, J.S.C, officials stated

According to officials, the guilty plea was to one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child for engaging in explicit conduct with a seventeen-year-old child on multiple occasions at a residence in Clifton.

Authorities say on October 17, 2023, the Honorable Marilyn C. Clark, J.S.C., sentenced Mr. Guardia to seven years in New Jersey State Prison.

Upon release from prison, officials said, Mr. Guardia will be subject to Parole Supervision for Life and Megan’s Law registration requirements.
