Authorities in Newark's Central Ward responded to a shooting incident on Sunday afternoon, which fortunately left no one injured.
The incident happened near the intersection of Norfolk Street and South Orange Avenue following the activation of a ShotSpotter device at approximately 4 p.m.
Upon receiving the alert, police swiftly arrived at the scene. While they discovered shell casings, they found no victims in the vicinity.
In response to the incident, the Newark Shooting Response Team was dispatched to assist in the ongoing investigation.
As of now, no arrests have been made, and the suspect involved remains at large.
Authorities are actively working to apprehend the individual responsible for this incident, and the motive behind the shooting is currently under investigation.
