Authorities from both East Orange and Newark responded to reports of a shots-fired incident in East Orange on Sunday night.
The incident occurred near 12 North Oraton Parkway and was initially detected by a ShotSpotter device, which promptly alerted law enforcement around 10:20 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers discovered several shell casings at the scene. However, despite a thorough search of the area, no victims were found.
The suspect had fled the scene before the authorities arrived, and they remain at large as of now.
Law enforcement has not yet disclosed a motive for the shooting, and the investigation is ongoing.
Residents are encouraged to report any information related to the incident to assist with the ongoing investigation.
