Newark

Residents in Newark and the surrounding North Jersey region should prepare for a rainy first half of the weekend as the forecast predicts precipitation on both Saturday and a little Sunday morning.

On Saturday, the day will begin with rain showers starting after 8 a.m., with temperatures holding steady around 51 degrees. A north wind at 3 to 7 mph will accompany the showers, and there is a 90% chance of precipitation.

The National Weather Service expects new precipitation amounts between a quarter and half an inch.

However, the rain is expected to clear out on Sunday, offering a brief respite from the wet weather.

NWS meteorologists say the day will be partly sunny, with a high near 60, but a brisk north wind of around 13 mph might make it feel cooler.

This marks the sixth consecutive weekend with rain in the Newark area, with the light rain expected to clear out by Sunday morning.

Residents are advised to keep their umbrellas and raincoats handy and to stay updated with the latest weather information.
