Elizabeth Police responded to reports of gunfire in the vicinity of 753 Pennington Street at approximately 11:35 p.m. Thursday.
The incident prompted several police officers at the scene to investigate.
Upon their arrival, law enforcement discovered clear evidence that a shooting had taken place, but there were no immediate reports of victims in the area.
Police conducted a thorough canvass of the surrounding vicinity in search of any potential victims.
Authorities also reported that a weapon was located at the scene. As of now, an active investigation is underway to determine the motive behind the incident.
Fortunately, there have been no reports of any physical injuries resulting from the shooting.
Elizabeth Police are diligently working to gather the motive for the shooting.
