Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel has announced an 11-count indictment against Everoy Morrison, a 44-year-old resident of Roselle.
Morrison was taken into custody in connection with a double homicide that occurred in Roselle on April 19th of this year.
The indictment includes charges of murder, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, credit card theft, receiving stolen property, and hindering prosecution.
The tragic events unfolded on April 19th when Roselle Police Officers responded to a distress call regarding two missing individuals at a residence within the 200 block of West 7th Avenue.
The subsequent investigation led to the grim discovery of the lifeless bodies of Keisha Morrison, 45, and Kelsey Morrison, 9, as detailed by Assistant Prosecutor Bryan Tiscia, who is overseeing the case.
During the initial police presence at the scene, it was determined that Keisha Morrison's vehicle had been taken.
Authorities from the Prosecutor's Office Homicide Task Force and the Roselle Police Department traced the vehicle to Maryland, where Everoy Morrison was apprehended while in possession of the stolen vehicle.
A thorough and exhaustive investigation, conducted jointly by the Prosecutor's Office Homicide Task Force, the Roselle Police Department, with valuable assistance from the Union County Sheriff's Office Crime Scene Unit and the Maryland State Police, ultimately led to the identification of Everoy Morrison as the alleged perpetrator of these grave crimes.
Notably, Morrison, the brother-in-law and uncle of the victims, had been reportedly residing in the residence's basement at the time of the tragic homicides.
