Newark authorities are actively searching for suspects involved in a shooting incident that occurred on Tuesday night, leaving property damage in its wake.
Police were alerted to reports of shots fired in the vicinity of 136 North 12th Street around 10 p.m.
Upon their swift arrival, officers discovered more than a dozen shell casings scattered at the scene.
A thorough neighborhood search also revealed a vehicle with its rear windshield shot out. Fortunately, no victims were found during the investigation.
The suspects, who had fled the scene, remain at large.
Police were alerted to the incident through a ShotSpotter activation, yet the motive behind the shooting remains under investigation.
Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist in resolving this case.
