Authorities in Newark are actively searching for a suspect involved in a shooting that occurred in the North Ward early Tuesday morning.
The incident unfolded around 1:30 a.m. in the vicinity of 239 Roseville Avenue.
Police were alerted to the scene after receiving reports of gunshots in the area near Park Avenue.
Upon arrival, they discovered a male victim who had sustained a gunshot wound to his leg.
First responders promptly provided medical attention, and the injured individual was transported to University Hospital for treatment. Fortunately, he is expected to make a full recovery.
The motive behind the shooting remains under investigation; as of now, no arrests have been reported.
Local authorities are urging anyone with information regarding this incident to come forward and assist in their ongoing efforts to apprehend the suspect.
