Authorities in Newark request the public’s help with identifying the suspect, who tried to take money from an IHOP employee on October 2.
Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé reported that the police responded to the incident, which occurred at approximately 3:40 p.m. at the IHOP located in the 900 block of Broad Street.
According to officials, the suspect walked into the downtown restaurant and attempted to take money from the hand of an employee who was counting the currency to give to her manager at the end of her shift.
After the employee refused to let the suspect take the money, he left the eatery and fled westbound on a black and green bicycle on Hill Street, officials said.
