The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, in conjunction with the New Milford Police Department, is actively probing the tragic deaths of two individuals that transpired at 250 Myrtle Avenue in New Milford on Saturday.
Officials said at around 4:15 p.m., officers from the New Milford Police Department initiated a welfare check at the premises, leading to the discovery of the lifeless bodies of 80-year-old Mr. Giovanni “John” Emmolo and 56-year-old Ms. Marina Perez, both of whom had succumbed to gunshot wounds.
This ongoing inquiry is currently being overseen by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, under the capable leadership of Chief Jason Love, and the New Milford Police Department, directed by Chief Brian Clancy.
While further details will be shared as they emerge, officials said initial indications suggest that this shooting incident is an isolated occurrence.
