Paterson police are currently probing a violent stabbing incident in the city overnight.
The incident occurred just before midnight when police received a call regarding an injured person in the 100 block of Belmont Avenue.
Responding officers discovered the victim with a stab wound to his torso.
Swift action was taken, and he was promptly transported to St. Joseph's Hospital, where he is currently listed in stable condition.
Given the nature of the incident, police have been actively investigating and questioning the victim's wife.
Domestic violence is being considered as a potential motive behind the violent altercation.
