The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the New Milford Police Department have launched an investigation into a distressing incident that unfolded at a private residence on Myrtle Avenue on Saturday, October 7.
Bergen County officials said at around 4:15 p.m., officers from the New Milford Police Department responded to the residence for a welfare check.
Upon entering the premises, they made a grim discovery - the lifeless bodies of a male and a female.
Both individuals were subsequently pronounced deceased.
While authorities have identified them, their names are being withheld pending notification of their next of kin.
The investigation into this tragic incident is currently underway, with the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office leading the efforts under the direction of Chief Jason Love, in collaboration with the New Milford Police Department, under the leadership of Chief Brian Clancy.
