An elderly man is fighting for his life after being struck by a vehicle in Bergen County on Thursday evening.
The incident happened shortly before 7 p.m. near the intersection of Hope Street and East Ridgewood Avenue in Ridgewood.
Local law enforcement officers swiftly responded to the scene and discovered the senior citizen lying on the ground, suffering from multiple severe injuries.
According to the man's family, he was airlifted to a nearby hospital, where he is currently in critical condition, battling fractures and possible brain damage.
The female driver of the vehicle involved in the accident stopped at the scene and fully cooperated with the police.
