An East Rutherford woman accused of robbing a New Hampshire woman with a friend and taking the victim in her car trunk while they shopped with her credit cards, pleaded guilty to robbery but denies placing victim in trunk.
Marilyn Nadeau pleading guilty to one count of robbery in the first degree admitted taking part in the robbery and stealing cash from the elderly victim' ATM card, according to the Morris County Prosecutor's Office. However, Nadeau refuses helping stuff the woman in a trunk.
The duo than used the woman's credit cards to purchase items at TJ Maxx in East Hanover and Kohl's in Woodland Park, and gasoline in Parsippany. The victim was eventually able to freed herself and get help.
On Dec. 29, 2012, Nadeau and her friend, Joseph DeFreitas, 43, of East Rutherford, carjacked a 71-year-old woman in Parsippany.
Nadeau and DeFreitas were both indicted on 11 counts, including carjacking, kidnapping and robbery. DeFreitas pleaded guilty to a single count of carjacking in November and was later sentenced to 25 years in prison.
The sentencing for Nadeau is scheduled for June 26.
