Authorities in Atlantic County announced on Friday, September 29, that a jury found Andreas Andreadis, 44, of Atlantic City, guilty of second-degree explicit assault, second-degree endangering the welfare of a child by explicit conduct, and second-degree endangering the welfare of a child by abuse.
According to officials, the jury found that the defendant entered into the eight-year-old victim's bedroom and touched her vagina while she was sleeping on September 15, 2019.
Officials say at the time, the defendant was the victim's stepfather.
The defendant faces between five and ten years in New Jersey State Prison for each offense, as well as mandatory registration as a sex offender and parole supervision for life.
According to authorities, however, due to the defendant's criminal history, the State will seek an extended term of imprisonment, which would increase his exposure to between five and 20 years in prison.
The defendant must participate in an Avenel evaluation to determine whether he poses a risk of reoffending before he can be sentenced.
Sentencing is tentatively scheduled for November 9, pending the Avenel evaluation.
