Authorities in Somerset County announced the arrest of Brian F. Cicerelle, 53, of South Bound Brook, in relation to multiple car burglaries, thefts, and credit card fraud.
Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald said that during August and September 2023, South Bound Brook Police initiated an investigation with assistance from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Burglary Unit and Franklin Township Police due to numerous reported car burglaries which occurred during the early morning hours between August 29 and September 9, 2023.
According to officials, the investigation identified Brian Cicerelle as the suspect involved in the car burglaries.
Authorities say on Sunday, September 10, 2023, at 3:11 a.m., a South Bound Brook Police officer made contact with Brian Cicerelle following a motor vehicle stop as a result of this investigation.
Cicerelle was informed that he was under arrest, officials stated and resisted the officers by refusing to comply with the arrest.
Officials said the defendant was subsequently arrested without further incident and charged with eight counts of 3rd-degree Burglary, three counts of 3rd-degree Credit Card Fraud, two counts of 4th-degree Credit Card Theft, and one count of 3rd-degree Resisting Arrest.
Defendant Cicerelle was transported to the Somerset County Jail, where he was lodged pending a detention hearing in the matter.
