Authorities in Newark request the public’s help with identifying the suspects who robbed a victim at gunpoint of her money and personal belongings on September 19, 2023.
Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé announced that the victim reported to police that three Black males approached her at approximately 10:35 p.m. and demanded that she give them her belongings while she was in the 60 block of Monroe Street.
According to officials, two of them began to go through her pocket, and one pulled out a gun, pointing it in her face.
Officials said they then took her purse containing $40, credit cards, and her driver’s license before fleeing northbound on Monroe Street.
Authorities say the first suspect is described as having a dark complexion and a thin build, he was wearing all-black clothing with white sneakers and a black face mask.
The second suspect, officials stated, is described as having a dark complexion, a heavy build, and was wearing a white mask, grey sweat pants, a black hooded sweatshirt, and shoes.
The third suspect, described as having a dark complexion, has a thin build and was wearing a white mask, sneakers, a tan hooded sweatshirt, and grey shorts, officials say.
