In a daring act, an armed man riding a scooter targeted a gas station in Newark's North Ward, making off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The incident happened at the Millenium gas station and drew a swift response from law enforcement.
Around 7:10 p.m., police were dispatched to the gas station following reports of a robbery in progress.
According to the station's employees, the suspect, described as a white male, arrived at the scene on a scooter and branded a firearm.
During the heist, the suspect wore all gray clothing and concealed his face with a blue mask.
After grabbing an unknown amount of cash, the assailant fled the scene, heading eastbound on Bloomfield Avenue.
Fortunately, there were no physical injuries reported during the incident.
Newark police are now actively investigating the case, hoping to identify and apprehend the scooter-riding robber.
