Newark authorities are investigating a recent shooting incident that caused property damage in the city's Central Ward.
The incident took place near the intersection of Bergen Street and 18th Avenue at approximately 8:42 p.m.
Upon receiving reports of the incident from residents, the police swiftly arrived at the scene.
Upon further examination of the crime scene, law enforcement discovered approximately half a dozen shell casings.
Police stopped a vehicle initially speeding away, but it was later determined that no arrests were made in connection with the shooting.
Additionally, a vehicle in the vicinity sustained damage due to a bullet; fortunately, there were no occupants inside the car when the incident occurred.
The suspect responsible for the shooting remains at large, and the motive behind the act is currently under investigation.
