Police have arrested two Newark men accused of stealing 19 ATMs around Essex County.
Police arrested the duo Tuesday night after an ongoing investigation.
The spree of ATM thefts date bank to November when both men allegedly used a pickup truck to steal ATM machines from an Applebees, a dry cleaners, and a convenience store in Newark.
The thefts not only continued this year but according to authorities the pair was trying to recruit others to use the same strategy to continue the spree.
Businesses in Bloomfield and Verona were among other towns the pair struck.
Levell Burnett, 38, and Mark Smith, 32, have been charged with various counts of theft, burglary and conspiracy.
Both men are currently at the Essex County Jail on $150,000 bond each.
