Linden Police officials launched an investigation into a violent altercation caught on video near Linden High School on Thursday, September 14th.

The disturbing footage displayed a defenseless teenage boy surrounded by approximately four assailants who subjected him to a barrage of punches, kicks, and stomps, even spitting on him.

Heartbreakingly, the victim is heard begging and pleading with his attackers throughout the several-minute-long ordeal.

Unfortunately, no adults, school administrators, security personnel, or police officers were present to intervene during the brutal assault.

The incident unfolded around 7:30 a.m. at the Speedway gas station on West St. George Avenue.

Authorities have since identified three of the assailants as students from Linden High School.

Police said all three have been immediately suspended by the school administration, but it's unclear if further charges will be assessed.

The young victim, who remains unnamed, was treated for non-fatal injuries and safely returned to the care of his parents, Linden Police said.

Commenting on the incident, police stated, "This incident is, obviously, concerning, and police are fortunate that there were not more serious injuries."

In response to the event and to ensure the safety of students, Linden police declared that officers will be stationed in the vicinity of the school during morning arrivals and afternoon dismissals.

Police officials said they will also work closely with school administrators and faculty to preclude any such incidents in the future.

The police urge the community to assist in the investigation. Anyone with further insights into the brawl or other related incidents is encouraged to reach out to the Juvenile Aid Bureau at (908) 474-8520
