A heart-wrenching incident occurred Wednesday evening when a 7-year-old child tragically fell from an apartment building in Fort Lee.
The incident happened around 6:40 p.m. at the Hampshire House at 1590 Anderson Avenue.
Emergency responders were called to the scene and found the child lying on the ground with severe injuries after falling from a staggering height of 21 floors.
The child was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, but despite the best efforts of medical professionals, doctors pronounced the young victim deceased.
The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office has taken charge of the investigation to determine the circumstances that led to this devastating fall.
The investigation is currently active and ongoing.
The entire community mourns the loss of this young life and extends its deepest condolences to the grieving family during this unimaginably difficult time.
