After an unsettled weather start to the week, today's weather forecast brings some relief to residents in the Newark and North Jersey Region.

At 4:30 a.m., temperatures were noticeably cooler than yesterday, offering a brief respite from humid conditions.

According to The National Weather Service, the day is expected to remain dry for the most part, providing a break from the recent spate of wet weather. However, the humidity is still lingering at 87%, so you may want to hold off on packing away those umbrellas just yet.

NWS forecasters said patchy fog is expected to dissipate by 8 a.m., giving way to mostly sunny conditions with a high near 83. The north wind, currently around five mph, will become light and variable as the day progresses.

While today offers a welcomed reprieve, weather conditions will take a turn on Wednesday.

There's a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms predicted after 2 a.m., with increasing cloud cover and a low of around 68 degrees.

It seems Wednesday may bring another round of wet weather, so staying weather-aware is a good idea.
