Newark resident Mr. Ralph Harris, 39, was fatally shot on September 8, and local authorities are actively seeking information.
At around 6:43 p.m., Newark police responded to reports of gunshots on the 100 block of Brookdale Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers found Harris outside with gunshot injuries.
He was rushed to University Hospital but was pronounced dead by 8:31 p.m.
Both the Essex County Prosecutor's Office and the Newark Public Safety Department are jointly investigating the incident.
As of now, there have been no arrests. Authorities are urging anyone with relevant information to anonymously contact the Prosecutor's Office tip line at 1-877-TIPS-4EC or 1-877-847-7432.
