Jazz Maestro, Latin-Jazz Quartet to Grace Bergen County Library

Renowned Jazz guitarist Nelson Riveros and his mesmerizing Latin-Jazz Quartet are set to make a triumphant return to the Englewood Public Library on Saturday, September 23, at 7 p.m.

This captivating concert will take place on the library's inviting front plaza.

Best of all, this concert series is not only an auditory delight but also completely free and open to the public. While registration is encouraged, it is not a requirement for attendance.

This musical extravaganza is made possible through the generous sponsorship of the Friends of the Englewood Library. Don't forget to bring your own chair and/or blanket for maximum comfort.

The Quartet has prepared an enchanting repertoire, promising to serenade the audience with Bossa Novas, Boleros, and a heartwarming tribute to the legendary Antonio Carlos Jobim.

The performance will also feature more vocal numbers compared to their previous appearance.Summer Program New York-based guitarist Nelson Riveros is a shining star among a new generation of contemporary Latin-Jazz artists. His Latin-Jazz debut album, 'Camino Al Barrio,' soared to an impressive #8 spot on the Jazz Week World Music Chart.

Notably, he was recognized by his peers, earning nominations for 'Next Best Generation Artist' and 'Best Latin Jazz Guitar' at the 2010 Latin Jazz Corner Best of The Year Awards.

Riveros' journey through the world of music led him to graduate with a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies from City College, where he honed his guitar skills under the guidance of luminaries like Gene Bertoncini and Pete McCann while also diving into composition with Mike Holober.

Additionally, his musical education extended to Mannes College of Music, where he studied guitar with Vic Juris.
