Hudson County authorities are actively investigating a shooting incident that occurred in the 90's block of Neptune Avenue Thursday night.
Just before 8:30 p.m., police received reports of shots fired in that neighborhood.
Upon arrival, Jersey City officers discovered a victim with a gunshot wound to the stomach.
The injured individual received immediate medical attention and was transported to Jersey City Medical Center for treatment.
The suspect responsible for the shooting managed to escape the scene and remains at large.
As investigators work diligently to piece together the details of this incident, no motive for the shooting has been disclosed.
Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding this case to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.
The victim's condition is currently undisclosed.
