Authorities in Paterson are currently looking into an incident involving shots fired in the downtown area Saturday morning.
The incident occurred around 3:55 a.m. near the intersection of Cianci Street and Ellison.
According to preliminary reports, officers swiftly responded to the scene upon receiving multiple reports of gunfire. Police believe a Hispanic male suspect, armed with a firearm, arrived in the area and began firing at unidentified individuals.
Reports say the suspect, described as wearing a white t-shirt and a black mask over his face, fled the scene before law enforcement arrived.
After a thorough search of the vicinity, officers did not locate any victims.
However, they did find several shell casings, indicating that shots had indeed been fired.
The investigation is ongoing, and the police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
Law enforcement officials are working diligently to gather more details and determine the circumstances surrounding this incident in downtown Paterson.
