Authorities in Atlantic County reported on Wednesday, August 23, that Marcus Seda, 27, of Atlantic City, pleaded guilty to first-degree attempted murder, second-degree possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose, and second-degree aggravated assault.
According to Atlantic County officials, Seda’s plea to attempted murder calls for a 10-year state prison sentence subject to the No Early Release Act, which requires Seda to serve eight- and one-half years before he is eligible for parole.
Once paroled, Seda will be subject to five years of intensive parole supervision by the Department of Corrections.
His pleas to unlawful firearm possession and aggravated assault call for concurrent state prison terms of five years and three years, respectively, officials say.
Authorities say Seda admitted he fired six gunshots into a vehicle with the intent to kill the driver in Pleasantville on October 14, 2021.
Investigators linked Seda to the shooting after finding that he had left his cell phone at the scene before fleeing, officials said.
Officials say he pled guilty to second-degree aggravated assault in a second case, admitting that he fired a handgun in Atlantic City on December 17, 2021, with the intent to seriously injure the intended target.
These cases were investigated by the Pleasantville and Atlantic City Police, officials said.
According to officials, sentencing is scheduled for October 4, 2023, before the Honorable Pamela D’Arcy, J.S.C.
Seda will remain in the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending sentencing.
