Elizabeth Police officials are investigating a ‘shots-fired’ incident that erupted in a city neighborhood Wednesday.
Early-morning gunfire erupted before 2:55 a.m. In the 100 block of Reid Street prompting a police investigation.
When cops arrived, Elizabeth City Spokeswoman Ruby Contreras said officers confirmed one shot was fired but no one was injured.
Residents told RLS Media that they saw a male being taken away on a stretcher suffering a leg injury.
No arrests were reported and the incident remains under investigation.
The motive for the shooting has not been determined.
