Newark and North Jersey residents should brace themselves for a significant temperature rise as the mercury climbs into the 90s Monday.
According to The National Weather Service, the forecast indicates that the upcoming weather will be characterized by hazy conditions, intense heat, and high humidity, which could make it feel even hotter.
While the sun will dominate, there's a possibility of isolated showers and thunderstorms; however, most areas are expected to remain dry. This combination of heat and humidity could result in an uncomfortable and muggy atmosphere.
NWS meteorologist said the day's conditions are expected to feature mostly sunny skies, with the thermometer reaching around 90 degrees.
The light and variable wind in the morning will shift to a northwest direction at 5 to 10 mph, potentially offering a slight reprieve from the heat.
Humidity levels are projected to be around 71%, contributing to the sticky and warm environment. A southwest wind at 7 mph is likely to intensify the heat sensation.
It's important to note that this spell of high temperatures is predicted to be short-lived. NWS meteorologist said a notable drop in temperatures, bringing them down to the low 80s, is anticipated for Tuesday.
