Police in Newark reported no injuries in a shots-fired incident in the West Ward Friday night.
It happened around 11:35 p.m. in the 100 block of Grand Street.
According to the investigation, a ShotSpotter device was activated after gunfire was detected in the Vailsburg community.
When cops arrived, they took a male into custody and found a weapon and shell casings.
Newark’s Shooting Response Team unit was called to the location to assist in the investigation.
Police have not reported the motive at this time.
