If your life is anything like ours, our weeks are full, and often, our weekends aren't that much different-they're sometimes filled with social events or even being homebodies.
Regardless of the events from the weekend, we know that we need to refocus for the upcoming week to avoid being caught off guard and wasting precious time and energy being unfocused and splintered energy.
We've had our fair share of starting the week off on the 'wrong foot,' and it was already Wednesday by the time we got our rhythm down! Our goal is to be intentional about how we feel at the end of the week.
We want to give it our best but yet, at the same time, not end up drained and exhausted, where it requires the weekend for us to recover (and then repeat the cycle).
We don't desire that at all.
In fact, we don't even desire to 'hit the ground running' as we once did on Mondays. In this season, Mondays are our 'take it slow day' because it helps us perform exceptionally well the remainder of the week.
Being intentional about how we spell success this season is critical to feeling accomplished. Here are a few other ways we focus our aim for the week:
- Define It: In case you missed it, get CLEAR about what success would look like for you this week. What do you need to accomplish, and how do you want to feel on Friday? Then what must you do for yourself and your spouse to get there?
- Put Boundaries Around It: Determine for each other where your weak spots are concerning following through on a goal. No one knows you like your spouse. Then help each other stay the course. For example, use questions like, "What time are we stopping today?' so you're on the same page.
- Learn From The Past: What went well last week? What didn't go so well? What lessons did you learn from that? What will you do differently, if anything this week?
The right convos lead to the right understanding. These convos are game-changers because they bring clarity and offer support from the one who matters most!
