Emergency responders are on the scene of a stabbing incident with several people injured in Newark’s West Ward at this time.
Preliminary reports at the scene indicated that at approximately 1:22 p.m., police were dispatched to an address in the vicinity of 446 South 18th Street to investigate a stabbing.
Upon arrival, police found about three victims suffering stab wounds, including a juvenile female.
All of the injured were rushed to University Hospital for treatment of various injuries.
Police believe the suspect fled the scene in a dark-colored vehicle and may have been acquainted with the victims.
The motive for the attack is under investigation by Newark Police. This is the second violent stabbing inside in Newark in less than 3 hours.
