Hudson County authorities are currently conducting an investigation into a shooting that took place in Kearny during the night.

According to Detective Sergeant Michal Gontarczuk,  the incident occurred at the Vermella East apartment complex around 1 am on Monday morning.

During a party, officials told RLS Media that three people were shot, fortunately sustaining non-life-threatening injuries.

They were taken to University Hospital in Newsrk for treatment.

Police said shooting was contained within a single apartment, and preliminary findings suggest that it was not a random act of violence.

According to Kearny Police,  there seems to have been some connection between the individuals involved, although the exact nature of their relationship is yet to be determined.

The Kearny Police Department's Detective Bureau is actively working on the case.

They encourage anyone with relevant information to step forward and share details either through the KPD tips e-mail at tips@kearnynjpd.org or by directly contacting the KPD Detective Bureau.
