Motorists should anticipate lane closures on I-280 in both directions due to an emergency incident that resulted in a collision in Essex County.
At approximately 3:30 a.m., a jackknifed tractor-trailer crashed near Exit 12 in East Orange.
Transportation officials said the truck, traveling westbound, collided with the eastbound divider, resulting in a significant traffic disruption.
Emergency responders, including NJ State Police and other crews, are currently at the scene, working to clear the area and assess the situation.
We are not hearing of any serious injuries at this time but we will update if anything changes.
Commuters are advised to plan an alternate route to avoid delays and congestion while authorities handle the incident.
