Are You Two Ready For What You've Prayed For?

New Jersey

By: O.L./Sway Buckley

We used to set annual business goals at the beginning of the year and wondered why they were thrown out the window before Q2.

We'd pray and pray for growth but constantly found ourselves in a start-stop cycle of frustration and disappointment but still couldn't seem to break free from it until it hit us.

One of the primary issues is that we are being hypocritical.

Hypocrisy: the practice of claiming to have moral standards or beliefs to which one's behavior does not conform;

Marriedpreneur PodcastYes, praying and believing for something we are not aligning our actions with is a form of hypocrisy.

It's also a form of self-sabotage:

Self-Sabotage: Self-sabotage is when people do (or don't do) things that block their success or prevent them from accomplishing their goals. (BetterUp.com)

For example, we were praying and believing for growth in our business, but we were prepared for what we were praying for. So the question is,

"Did we really believe what we expected?"

The answer is, No, we didn't.

Marriedpreneur LifeIf you're seeking to grow in business as marriedpreneurs, what actions, systems, and strategies are you being diligent to employ?

That doesn't mean results are overnight. That's not realistic for sustainable results.

But it does mean that we are doing our part in learning, growing, preparing, and following up to the best of our ability with our capacity.

Many aren't willing to do even that. Take a listen to the Signs of Self-Sabotoage on the Marriedprenuer Life podcast here

There is a painful side of growth because it brings discomfort. But we can't pray for an expected outcome without expecting to go through the growing pains.
