Prioritizing Priorities Together Pt 2

New Jersey

By: O.L./Sway Buckley

In yesterday's writing, we addressed how married couples in business can save time and build a stress-free zone by prioritizing priorities each day. If you missed it, you can read it here

The strategies we shared are a game changer.

However, if we left it there, we would be omitting a big caveat.

Life happening.

Marriedpreneur LifeAs marriedpreneurs, we know all too well how our plans can go array, and it is simply out of our control, from a team member having a family emergency, to a child being ill, to receivables not being received on time, etc.

The list of unpredictable things is just going to happen!

That isn't an excuse to throw it all out the window.

Here's the next building block, perception.

Your perception matters.

Success-Mapping CallHow you perceive a problem (that's out of your control) in light of your daily priorities matters. Marriedpreneurs without the 'equipment' to redirect instead react. That leads to days of responding to fires instead of redirecting.

Reacting means the goals/priorities for the day have likely been shot down, and we're going throughout the day to see what needs to be responded to next. (This can also be a clear sign of poor business systems, but that's for another day).

One of the best ways to redirect, instead of reacting, is to reprioritize the new priority intentionally- if there's even one. Sometimes we feel like we're the only ones who can handle a situation or that the situation has to become #1.

Sometimes it does, but we feel like it does most times

Marriedpreneur PodcastConsider assessing all of the pieces and readjusting where needed. The next part is not to be hard on yourself about things that are out of your control. It's a part of building a system. The final step is to implement a responsive system to automate at least the first part to free your mind space (That can be an email script, a reminder, etc.)
