Authorities in Hudson County are investigating the cause of a traumatic incident that claimed the life of a senior man in Jersey City Saturday.
According to Jersey City Spokeswoman Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione, emergency responders were dispatched to 198 Hopkins Avenue to investigate reports of a person trapped under a car around 7:14 p.m.
Upon arrival, Spokeswoman Wallace-Scalcione said Jersey City Police officers immediately used jacks to remove the male from under the vehicle, and first responders rendered aid to the unresponsive male.
Police say the 81-year-old male was pronounced at the Jersey City Medical Center.
It appears the victim had been working on the vehicle at the time of the incident.
No criminality is suspected at this time.
