Authorities in Essex County that the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force is investigating the fatal shooting of Mr. Carlos Zayas, 32, of Newark.
According to Essex County Prosecuotr’s Office Spokesman Robert Florida, at 3:16 a.m., today, police were notified of a shooting on the 600 block of Broadway in Newark.
Police found Zayas outside at that location suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was transported to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 3:51 a.m.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
No arrests have been made.
