Emergency responders are on the scene of a horrific building collapse in Newark’s North Ward at this time.
It happened around 6:07 p.m. in the single digit block of Pine Street in the Steven Crane Housing Development.
Official circumstances behind what cause the building to crumble to the ground has yet to be determined.
Newark firefighters has requested all resources to the scene for possible trapped occupants.
Residents in the area told RLS Media that a male who was inside the structure managed to find his way out of the collapsed rubble suffering burns.
Officials say as of 6:39 p.m., two adults and a child are being treated for non-fatal injuries.
Several witnesses said they heard an explosion at the scene. Firefighters has transmitted a second alarm for additional manpower.
UPDATE: 7 p.m. No trapped occupants.
