The day starts with high humidity, making it feel quite muggy as residents step outside.

According to the National Weather Service, there is a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms as the day progresses, mainly after 2 pm.

Some of these storms can potentially bring heavy rainfall to the area.

In addition to the possibility of rain, NWS meteorologist said the region will also experience widespread haze after 8 am. The haze may impact visibility and create a smoky atmosphere throughout the day.

Despite the potential for showers and haze, NWS forecasters say the day will remain partly sunny, with a high temperature near 91 degrees. However, it is essential to note that the heat index values could reach as high as 98 due to the combination of heat and humidity.

This means that it will feel even hotter than the actual temperature.

NWS forecasters say the wind speed is expected to be calm in the morning, eventually becoming south at around 5 to 8 mph. This gentle breeze may provide some relief from the heat but is not strong enough to significantly impact the weather conditions.

The humidity level is currently at 76 percent, indicating a moderately humid atmosphere. This, combined with the high temperatures, can contribute to a sense of discomfort.
