On Wednesday, July 12, members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Investigations Unit arrested a Guttenberg woman following an investigation into failed financial reporting to multiple government agencies.

According to officials, Anmerlene Demetroudis, 59, is charged with one count of Theft by Deception, a crime of the third degree.

Officials say she was arrested at her residence in Guttenberg and released on a summons pending her first court appearance, which is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, July 25.

The investigation found Demetroudis failed to report the income she earned as a home health aide, resulting in an overpayment of more than $20,000 in benefits from the Social Security Administration, the Medicaid Benefit Program, the Department of Community Affairs Rental Assistance Program, and NJ FamilyCare between June 2020 and November 2022.
