Bloomfield Police took a man into custody and charged him with attempting to steal several hundred dollars worth of items from one of the township’s businesses.
Police said while on patrol near 77 Bloomfield Avenue (Walgreens), officers recognized a male wanted for questioning by the Detective Bureau for shoplifting.
According to police, when officers walked into the store to speak to the male, he attempted to leave the store with a bag full of merchandise without paying.
Police say, Mr. Angel Figueroa, 36, of Newark, was taken into custody.
The items were various hair products valued at about $387.77.
Figueroa was placed under arrest and transported to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to be processed.
