The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office is leading the investigation into a shooting incident that claimed the life of a recent high school graduate in East Orange Monday evening.
County authorities have confirmed that at approximately 7 p.m., police received reports of a shooting on Ashland Avenue.
Upon arrival, East Orange Police confirmed that a shooting had happened and that a male was taken to the hospital.
The victim, identified as Mr. Nicholas Edwards, was pronounced dead a short time later. Edwards graduated from East Orange Campus High School on June 21st, officials told RLS Media.
The investigation into the deadly shooting is under an active and ongoing investigation.
