A few years back, we were doing our annual planning and decided to find marriage events we could attend to strengthen our marriage.
We found a place called Keswick in South Jersey, hosting what we thought was a marriage retreat. Upon arriving, we saw that most couples were significantly older (many were old enough to be our parents).
Everyone was extremely kind and went out of their way to welcome us.
When we reached our room, we realized it wasn't a marriage event but a church leaders' training event (for couples).
We discussed leaving and returning home to North Jersey, but we decided to stay, and we're so glad we did!
We met several beautiful couples who have built ministries and churches together and decided to make the best of the mixup. Many of the couples had been married longer than we'd been alive (or close to it).
We figured it would be a great way to glean marital wisdom from many who had stood the test of time.
Indeed, if they had been married for 40-plus years, there was some wisdom that we could implement and then share with others).
We decided to interview ten of the couples about their best marriage advice and report back the responses on our Marriedpreneur Life podcast.
