Police reported no injuries in a shots-fired incident in Newark's West Ward.
Gunfire rang out in the area of 240 Mount Vernon Place, prompting police to the location to investigate around 10:30 p.m.
Upon arrival, police found evidence that a shooting had occurred, but after searching the scene, no victims were found.
Police say a ShotSpottter device activated and alerted officers of gunfire in the West Ward community.
The suspect fled the scene and remains at large.
