New Jersey State police officials are leading the investigation into a crash that killed a person on a highway in Passaic County Tuesday morning.
At approximately 3:40 a.m., Troopers were dispatched to the eastbound lanes of I-80 to investigate reports of a crash with injuries.
Upon arrival, NJSP found the crash scene with one unconscious and unresponsive person suffering severe injuries.
The unidentified person was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the crash caused some delays on the interstate while detectives investigated the cause.
No other serious injuries were reported.
