Newark and North Jersey residents can expect a day that's not too shabby when it comes to weather.

The National Weather Service said while there is a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the forecast, the day overall looks promising for some outdoor activities.

With a humidity level of 84%, NWS forecasters say the air will feel slightly muggy but not overwhelmingly so.

According to NWS forecasters, the wind will start off calm in the morning, gradually becoming a gentle breeze from the south, ranging from 5 to 9 mph in the afternoon.

This shift in wind direction will bring in slightly warmer air, contributing to a high temperature near 85 degrees.

NWS meteorologists have a barometer reading of 29.79, which indicates stable atmospheric pressure, suggesting that weather conditions are not likely to undergo significant changes throughout the day.

There is a chance of showers and thunderstorms expected between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., offering the potential for some precipitation during that time.

NWS meteorologists say as the day progresses, showers are likely, with the possibility of a thunderstorm after 2 p.m. However, the precipitation is not expected to be excessive.

New rainfall amounts are predicted to range between a tenth and a quarter of an inch, with higher amounts possible in the case of thunderstorms.

NWS forecasters say the morning will begin with some patchy fog in some areas before 9 a.m. but is expected to dissipate as the day progresses, leading to partly sunny conditions.
